On Saturday, April 7 at 2 pm, retired state geologist Harry L. Moore will lead a Geology WalkAbout to the quarry properties.
Moore grew up in the area and knows the rock formations under the nature center very well. He is also the author of A Roadside Guide to the Geology of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Geologic Trip Across Tennessee: Interstate 40 and The Bone Hunters, all published by UT Press.
