National Drive Electric Week event held at Ijams

East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition hosted the 2014 National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) event at Ijams on September 20. NDEW is an international effort to celebrate and bring awareness to the many different models of electric vehicles that are available today, and Knoxville was one of 152 events across the U.S. and Europe.

The event at Ijams featured a showcase of electric vehicles from the new BMW i3, Cadillac ELR and the nearly ubiquitous Nissan Leaf. Attendees were able to get up close and personal with the vehicles, ask questions of the owners (pic #3), and listen to presentations about the environmental benefits of the vehicles.

Participants left with fun giveaways like sunglasses and t-shirts as well as the message that there are many different types of electric vehicles that could work for their lifestyles and needs.
